How fateful that I think about Soulcaster a day after your first post in ages. Hope all is well.
Your hope means a lot! Every day is different for me, but today, I am doing well.
Fingers crossed for you. Beat the Spellcaster 1 and 2 last year.
Amazing games.
Thank you!
Hi Ian, I met you at PAX way back in 2013 where you were showcasing Escape Goat 2, and I just wanted to say that your work was quite the inspiration to me. I had just started in the games industry that year, and seeing you demo your game really left an impression, I could tell how much passion and effort you put into it. All of this is to say that I hope you’re doing alright and I’m glad you’re still posting here.
Showing at PAX 2013 is one of the great memories of my career in indie games! Looking back, events and playtesting were really important to me as part of the process–so much of the work is done in isolation, it feels great to be able to share it with others. Since you’re joining the ranks of game devs, I hope you can find the elements of this creative process that bring you joy, and latch on to them so they can help you weather the tough times. Thank you and best wishes!
glad to hear it. wishing you the best
